We will be conducting a Goodreads giveaway of my novel, Rebecca of Ivanhoe, a sequel to Sir Walter Scott’s classic tale, for two weeks starting Feb. 7. The novel tells the story of Rebecca, the beautiful Jewish healer after she is rescued by the knight Ivanhoe from being burned alive as a witch in medieval England. In my novel, I imagine that she and her father flee to Spain, where they have relatives, and where she befriends Rachel of Esra, the Jewish mistress to King Alfonso VIII. But Rachel and Rebecca are soon caught up in dangerous times as the Christians and Moors battle for control of Iberia, and antisemitism is on the rise. Rebecca of Ivanhoe has garnered great reviews and received five stars on Goodreads; one reviewer wrote: “Rebecca of Ivanhoe breathes new life into one of literature’s most intriguing secondary characters, transforming the beautiful Jewish healer into a heroine for the ages. This sequel to Sir Walter Scott’s classic dares to continue a beloved tale and weaves a rich tapestry of intrigue, romance, and personal discovery that stands proudly on its own.”
Ten copies of the paperback will be mailed to the winners of this giveaway, which runs from Feb. 7-20. Hope you participate and win!
